With only 50 tickets available for the live performance, the event was filmed for premier broadcast on the festival's website.

Red Snapper will be releasing long awaited new material this year. Their track Truth (currently getting airtime on BBC Radio 6 Music) is the first of three new singles, while an album will be released in 2021.

Best known for their unique and dramatic sound and passionate live performances, Red Snapper embrace dark funk, hip-hop, dub, psychedelic surf and afro-jazz. Their track Spikey has been featured on El Camino, the recently released Netflix Breaking Bad film directed by Vince Gilligan.

Originally formed in 1994, they've toured globally and supported acts such as Massive Attack, Bjork, The Prodigy, De La Soul and The Fugees. They have a reputation for innovative and expansive remixes – reworking tunes by Trouble Funk, Garbage, Lamb and Edwyn Collins, amongst others.

“Red Snapper have been knocked considerably by the stranglehold the COVID outbreak has taken on all live outings,” says band co-founder Ali Friend. “So it’s with immense gratitude we're accepted an offer to play at The WOODBRIDGE FESTIVAL in Suffolk, our first live show for many months and a place we enjoyed playing a few years ago. We look forward to playing new material from our forthcoming album, and being part of this innovative festival."

Woodbridge Festival programme director and DJ Ben Osborne, said: "We're excited to be hosting Red Snapper in Woodbridge under COVID safe conditions. Snapper first caused a stir when Andrew Weatherall stepped-up to mix their debut single and are massively popular with Woodbridge's discerning crowd.

"They've made a huge and unique contribution to UK music and influenced acts worldwide. They're forefathers to the current crop of British jazz acts bringing virtuoso musicianship into clubs around the world, and are one of the most exciting live acts in soul and dance."

The show in Woodbridge will see them perform a one-off collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Tim Hutton, whose credits include work with acts such as Afrika Bambaataa, Groove Armada, Bat For Lashes, Plaid, Amy Winehouse, Professor Green, Mike Skinner and many more.
