This month's relaxed vinyl playback session returns to 1981 and the era defining sounds of Martyn Ware, Ian Craig Marsh and Glen Gregory.

To fit the post punk theme this month's make and do session is make your own pin badges, either design as you listen or bring pre-made designs along with. Materials provided in ticket price and session led by artists Alice Stallard.

We also have Woodbridge Book's last remaining copy of Martyn Ware's excellent autobiography in hard back (signed by Martyn when he joined us at Woodbridge Festival '22) available to buy alongside the last eight copies in paperback. DM for details and collect on the night.

Penthouse and Pavements was the first LP released by Martyn and Ian as Heaven 17. They took the name from Anthony Burgess' dystopian novel 'A Clockwork Orange' and had intended the LP to to be one off as part of BEF (British Electronic Foundation), the umbrella project they set-up after the The Human League. The success of the LP and it's follow up, The Luxury Gap, combined with their legacy as The Human League, cemented their place as the fathers of 1980s UK synth music.

We pay homage to Sheffield's ground-breaking electronic pioneers.
